M_D's Video Game Tournament: A Thief's End

This will be done snake-style. That means that the order goes from 1 to 8 (for example), then 8 to 1, until each RMer has the required amount of videogames in their team.Part of the fun of this type of tournament is that everyone has their own videogames they want to pick, and the tension that comes from waiting for your turn and hoping nobody else picks it first is really great. Plus, picks are discussed as they come up.Once you have the assembled teams, you just put them in the randomizer again to determine the matches. Then one by one, the board as a whole will vote on each individual match, until an RMer is crowned King of Videogames

Would need to be sorted by era and/or genre. Too many leaps in technology have rendered amazing games like Mario 64 old news.

Genre could be fun, like platformer, FPS, etc. But even then a game like Contra will have a tough time going against something like Limbo. So maybe it's by era?
