I've listened to both MCR's 'Helena' and No Doubt's 'Spiderwebs' a half dozen times since they popped up in the tournament. I love those songs. I guess I have shitty taste now? Thanks, Jorge.

Guys, just like last week, I'm not going to be around tomorrow morning so I'm going to go ahead and close the matches now.

You're thinking of "Longview", which is in this
I think we have more than enough Green Day, and three much more popular songs from that album. We don't need the lesser Dookie single (which was originally released before our cutoff anyway)

Lesser in terms of popularity. I like the song a lot. But it's kind of the same reason why I didn't include "She's Got Issues" from Americana or "Always" from the Blink self-titled album; they're the less-popular singles from huge albums that are already well represented. Even if they're individually more popular than other songs in the tournament (way more people know "Always" than, say, "What's The Dillio"), I prefer to make a little room for variety

Welcome to Paradise got a lot more airplay in my neck or the woods than Hitchin’ a Ride, which, again, I’ve never heard before.
yeah jorg, this could be a geographical thing, but when i was a kid, Welcome to Paradise was the second song to blow up, right after Basketcase. Longview is better than both of those, but it never blew up and i think basically underperformed as a single.

"Longview" was definitely bigger than "Welcome to Paradise", and you can look at the numbers to corroborate that. "Longview" was also the first Dookie single, had a music video that was huge on MTV, and was their first calling card to the world outside of Gillman Street. I also like "Welcome to Paradise" much better, but that's neither here nor there.
