i'm all in favor of this thing, but seeing so many unfamiliar threads right after LV's tourney wrapped is kind of stressing me out.

This tourney is going to feel very different for me than the nu-metal one. Both genres are terrible overall, but I still enjoy pop punk to this day. It doesn't take itself too seriously and I still have fun putting on a lot of these songs.

Now your dismissive comparisons of pop and punk have me REALLY stressed out.

It's hard for me to look at these songs and not see Rancid winning.

Their first 6 albums were incredible, including their out-of-left-field hardcore self-titled album.

I really put them in a class by themselves.

Life Won't Wait is my favorite thing they did, but none of those songs were big enough to include here

Life Won’t Wait and the 2000 album are definitely peak Rancid.

Rancid is a great band and towers above move everyone else included in this tourney.

I love Rancid, but I only know "And Out Come the Wolves" and the 2000 self-titled. I need to explore them further. They're great.

You should listen to Life Won't Wait. It's a sprawling, eclectic collection of really strong songs. They pretty consciously went after a Sandinista type vibe. I love "Cocktails", "Cash Culture and Violence", "Crane Fist", "The Wolf"-- a band exploring the limits of their sound and having a blast with it. I don't think anything they ever did was as good as that.

I like Rancid a lot but I can only take so much of Tim's vocals. I'm not a huge fan of their first album, but Let's Go has a couple of really good songs. To me, the And Out Come the Wolves / Life Won't Wait / Rancid 2000 trilogy is where it's at. They became really shitty pretty soon after that.

I'm a huge fan of Indestructible. Some of the catchiest choruses they ever produced.
