If you want to play the games in the suite of NES, SNES, N64, or SEGA titles they have you need to subscribe to get them. |

It's pretty fun and I recommend trying it if you're a fan at all of online multiplayer shooters. It managed to make its own unique mark on the tired genre. But it seems there's no big reason to upgrade to 3 if you already have 2. If you don't, or if money's not an issue, go with 3 for the minor improvements. |

There's a fun, brief single player mode (apparently somewhat improved in part 3), mostly focused on getting you used to the controls and everything, but online mode is the game's primary focus. It's a Nintendo game, so I wouldn't worry about being deterred or dominated by expert trolls or smurfs. They have their ways of making it fun and welcoming for newbies. |

What tree_ said. The series has a unique style that many find endearing as well. The matches are short and pretty easy to pick up and play. |
