If revenue comes from selling games not selling consoles then what is with the no physical discs on PS4?

-$59.99 on the playstation store means they get 100% of the markup
-no manufacturing costs
-ultra-greedy developers like EA finally get their wish to kill off the used game marketplace.

How, in any way, is the 3DS a disaster (besides the first few months)? It's sold over 20 million units by now, and I'm not even going to bother listing the ridiculous amount of awesome games. I traded mine early last year for a 360, but have been dying to get one again. It's an incredible little system at a very reasonable price.

Yeah, my stepson has one and it is a lot of fun. The 3D part isn't great but you can turn that off easily. There are some really great games for it.

Three questions: Does anyone have the SuperSlim Ps3? Is it as bad as the reviews I've read suggest it is? If it's going to be my first and only Ps3, can I overlook the cheapness in design?

Just started Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. 3 hours in. I'll report back if I haven't killed myself.

Can anyone suggest a good site or blog (or a couple) that is solid for video game news/reviews?

Joystiq and Kotaku are very good.

I just started Borderlands 2. It rules, obviously. Also, the 3DS actually turned out to be a pretty awesome little system. Fire Emblem alone is worth getting the system for.

N4G is a good site--it is mainly an aggregator of news/reviews. Just stay away from the comments section and you'll find lots of relevant stuff.

Has anyone played Castlevania: Lords of Shadow or Darksiders? They look like fun and are under $20. Thinking about grabbing one.

New Tomb Raider looks insane. I wish I had kept up with the franchise.

i've been playing Borderlands 2 since the day after christmas. haven't had a whole lot of free time in 2013 it seems. i finished the game but i bought the season pass for the DLC and i'm working my way through that now.

i've still got Assassins Creed 3 and Metal Gear HD to get through before i can even think about buying Bioshock, Tomb Raider, Dead Space 3, or Metal Gear Rising.

I like IGN for the podcasts (specifically Podcast Beyond), but otherwise I go to Joystiq or Kotaku.

Technically, yes. But if you're playing TR for story you're doing it wrong. Mind bending puzzles and micro-dependent execution are what it has always been about.

i guess i missed your point in the first post. i thought you were lamenting not having kept up on the story because this new one looks great. but yeah the story really doesn't matter. i probably haven't played a TR game in 10 years but i think this one might be worth a try.
