Final Fantasy 7 is the best for me, and 8 is nipping at its heels. 7 has the best overall story and characters, while 8 has the best end game sequence and the card game. Triple Triad is a massive part of why 8 kicked ass, and why 9 was lacking. (9 had its own card game and it was shitty). |

I would say the biggest improvement from the first game to the second game in any franchise is without question Half Life. I still remember that I picked up HL2 for $4 on clearance at Circuit City. It’s the best dollar for dollar game that I ever bought. |

The story gets convoluted and none of the new characters you meet are all that interesting except maybe Vincent. 6 has the best music and the best villain of the entire series. |
