The order of this list is all over the place, but I think it is a good starting point for this conversation. What are your favorite games of the decade?

Mario games always top my list.

Mario Galaxy 2 (2010) is in my Top 5, though I haven't actually sat down to make my list.

I initially thought I wouldn't have played enough games to make a list, but I've probably played like 15 games on Polygon's list, so I can probably put something together.

The list sort of reads like a hipster's top 100. I have some pretty major issues with their sequencing too, but it hits on most of the decade's best releases.

I would love to see other RMers top games of the decade! Feel free to make a list (only if it is 5-10 games).

One weird thing that list does is it combined RDR and RDR2 into one list item. Like, wtf?

I'm not super qualified to weigh in here -- I've not played any of the Nintendo games, and have yet to play RDR2; I also missed the prior generation of video games outside of a few brief encounters at friends' houses. But here's my list all the same:

I've played these and I think they are overrated
Portal 2 -- Awesome mechanic but it got old fast
Fortnite -- This game is annoying
MGSV -- Meh. I much preferred the PS1 iteration when the gameplay was simpler but also less ridiculous.
GTAV -- I've never latched on to this series.

Off the top of my head, my top 5 (in no particular order) would probably look something like this:

Doom 2016
Dishonored 1/2
Return of the Obra Dinn
Disco Elysium

I've probably put the most time into Cities: Skylines though.

God of War, Horizon, Borderlands 2, SM Galaxy 2, SM Odysey, tLoU, RDR, GTA5, Mass Effect 2 (unsure of year of release), Fire Emblem Awakening.

I only beat 14 of their list. I own a handful more that I have yet to play. I plan on buying a few more of them. There were many that I wasn’t familiar with somehow.

I beat 112 games this decade. I probably only played a handful that I didn’t beat through.

Do you keep a journal or notebook of what you've played? If so, I need to start doing that.

For some reason, I started recording all games that I beat starting in 2010. I just have a notepad.

One original game in my top 5, I only played like maybe 10 games that weren’t remakes in the last 10 years anyway though. I guess I’d put Skyrim or Deus Ex Human Revolution in my top 10.
