The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I used to. I haven't purchased anything other than standard in a decade. Master Chief's helmet from Halo 3 ultimate edition is still on display in my video game room. Digital items and goodies ruined most of these premium packages.

Some of them are really cool (like the Halo helmet), but I just can't justify it to myself.

My buddy used to own a store in Massachusetts that was like a gaming café/board game room/ Anime/nerd memorabilia store… He had a life-size master chief statue outside of his building but kids would always fuck with it

Yeah I was so tired yesterday I only played about the first 30 mins, but god damn the visuals (especially the people) I think are the best I've seen on a console yet. No doubt a game that properly hands off to the next gen. All that said I'm thinking I'd better reposition the PS4 Pro a bit for better air flow. She'll run mighty warm/damn near hot after a few hours of this one.

I'm only about 2 hours in (busy weekend). So far enjoying all, though I am skeptical of whether I'll end up actually liking any of these new characters...still way too early to make any kind of judgment though.

I'm about 9 hours in, though I am going VERY slow, looking in every nook and cranny. I'm thinking about changing up this play style because it is becoming a bit tedious, but every time I try I get this feeling that I'm missing something important and just can't.
I love it. It's amazing.
A couple of nitpicks: They still haven't solved the problem of your friend behaving bizarrely during enemy encounters. She'll stand up and walk right next to a guy you're hiding from and he doesn't see her. Also, I want to be able to press a button to put away an item I'm holding, such as a gun or bottle or medical kit. It's frustrating that everything looks realistic and pretty but Ellie is holding a bottle or gun for no reason in a peaceful situation. Shrug. Doesn't bother me much but these improvements would have been nice.

A couple of hours in here. This is absolutely the PS4 being pushed to it's max. I almost always find the games released on a console, around the time a newer gen console is on it's way, to be the peak of that console's ability.
Fucking amazing graphics and sound (headphones). Exactly the kind of game play I expected. The characters and voice acting are top notch.
The sound was clipping/stuttering on my first play at it, so I had the PS4 do a database rebuild and that sorted it out. No other issues so far.

The performances in this are incredible (as expected). I'm making a list to share later when people have played a bit more, but there are so many moments that are sticking with me.

I agree with all of this. I ended up playing, and man this was an incredibly told story. It’s absurd to want to turn these types of games into tv shows and movies. They tell better stories, and tell them more powerfully, than those older mediums that have spent decades giving into formula.
A few more hours in and the story is amazing. Ballsy direction and I can see why this game is being polarising. Loving it though. Just enjoy the fucking ride, seriously.
Has anyone noticed that the dark areas aren't all that dark? I've reduced the brightness in the settings, but it doesn't really make a lot of difference. Takes away from the horror side somewhat.
The only thing about these games is not knowing how far into the game you are. I have no idea if I'm 5%, 50% or whatever into the game.
