IGN: SONY IS OFFICIALLY WORKING ON A NEXT-GEN CONSOLE

The FT reports that its sources have said that the upcoming console "might not represent a major departure from the PS4, and that the fundamental architecture would be similar."

Following the success of Nintendo's hybrid Switch, and the announcement of Microsoft's Project xCloud – aiming to allow players to run games on any internet-enabled device – there has been speculation about whether Sony would take similar approaches to one or both.

i can't imagine the console being much better than the ps4 pro..

i heard it's too expensive to make games any fancier or bigger than they currently are..

If they come out with another Uncharted I'll get a PS5 otherwise I'll be in no hurry. Tons of PS4 games I haven't gotten too.

it's weird that they suggest the architecture would be similar. Shouldn't they be pushing VR, portability, or some other gimmick as being a revelation?

When 8K TVs become popular, surely the good 4K tvs will drastically drop in price and then I will buy one

Backwards compatibility and faster load times/smoother gameplay are really all I want. Really happy to see that will be coming.
