The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I haven't received any additional communication about my preorders. I expect to receive my XSX on launch day since I ordered from Microsoft. I'm not sure what Target is doing for the PS5.

I feel like Target is pretty good at delivering on launch day or very near launch day. They use every shipping service known to man though.
My PS5 order directly from Sony has a guaranteed release date delivery. I'm not super confident about the other two pre-orders arriving on time.

Guys, seriously, how excited are you for this from 1 to 10? With the state of the world and everything right now, it's just even more of a gift. It's a dream. Got the shivers.

I'm a solid 8 or 9. Like you said, it's likely one of the only things scheduled to happen this year that will actually happen. It helps there will be several games I'm interested in available at launch. New technology is always fun.
I've said it before in this thread, but the PS5 has one of the better launch lineups ever. Several games are available on last gen hardware, sure, but they have better versions on the PS5. Miles Morales, Sackboy, Demon's Souls, Assasin's Creed, Cyberpunk, and even Astro Bot's playroom all appear to be quality titles in a variety of genres.
That being said, I totally understand being a little underwhelmed. The PS4 didn't really get going until Year 2 or so. If you are looking to play new titles only available on new hardware, you'll probably be waiting at least another 6-12 months.

I have a hard time counting cross gen games towards the launch lineup because anyone can play those. I think both launch lineups are weak. Only reason I’m upgrading to a Series X is because my XB1 is closing in on 7 years old at launch and its showing its age on games.
