And PS5 is rumored for November 13. What a week!

Wild that it was officially announced in the middle of the night. Have to feel for the marketing team who has surely been working on the big reveal for months. I guess this illustrates how risky it is to wait this long to reveal the prices of next gen hardware. Kind of amazing that this is the first leak.

Essentially, is the Series S a smaller, cheaper Xbox One X?

It's not official yet.

No, it's an all digital next gen console. I assume it's an upgrade over the X1X.

S is not going to be as powerful but targeting 120 fps. The price point will be very attractive for casual gamers and parents. I assume its also Microsoft’s attempt to get some PS5 players into their ecosystem with a cheaper option.

$300 gets closer to impulse buy for me. They just need some exclusives that I am interested in playing. The trailers for their first showcase didn't show enough gameplay to get an idea of what it is coming from them this generation.

I'll have to set my alarm for 11:59. Snag a preorder, then go back to bed.

Any updated predictions on PS5 pricing?

Do we think they will go $400 for the all digital and $450 for the main box?

Definitely more than a $50 difference between the versions.

Yes, probably. I'm sure there will be other "perks" of the high price model.

I’d be stunned if they’re less than the Series X with their disc drive. The rumor was they cost $450 to make.

An optical drive alone only costs like $12 from what I’ve read. I’m guessing $450 and $500.

This guy is an industry insider and says PS5’s cost $470 alone to manufacture.

Honestly, given their install base from PS4, they could price high and likely still be OK.

My final guess is $500 for the standard console with a free 6 months of PS Plus and PS Now. $400 for the discless version with no passes.

This was my prediction as well, at least for the standard version (which is the only version I care about). $500 is pretty much a given IMO. They just need to fucking announce it already....we're like two months out for fuck's sake!!
