Like most RPGs, i found myself spending a good 30 minutes after each major quest or venture out into the wasteland just sorting all the crap i had collected and either scrapping or storing it. That was kind of a huge time suck. The settlement building system was fun but there was no easy way to store and ORGANIZE all of your stuff except in actual separate boxes like you would in the real world. It was neat for a few minutes until you spent the whole time trying to remember where to store your guns, armor, ammo, etc. A single storage box with a more intuitive and useful UI within the menus would have been nice. It's a hoarding simulator, i don't want to actually go through the trouble of building and organizing a real hoard.

I mean, look at this shit. After a few hundred hours in this game i had to have sorting systems like this:

See, just looking at that picture I'm like "Wow! Great concept!" I just wish the execution was better...

I've never played another Fallout game and I know they are loved by many, so I'd be keen to try another one if they overhauled the crafting and inventory systems.

Just a sample of reactions from Fallout Reddit today:

"Yah nice money grab Bethesda"

"Fo76 seems like the type of game that I specifically avoid. I feel betrayed."

"My skepticism has only doubled tonight."

"Petition for servers with NO PVP in Fallout 76"

"Anyone else nervous about being spammed and harassed online and having your game ruined"

"If I spend 5 hours creating an amazing base just for it to get nuked and destroyed by a level 4 sitting in a bunker im gonna flip my shit"

"Todd said he would answer all of our questions one by one; instead he only created more questions and uncertainty by not clarifying the details of the key aspects of the game."

I'm really glad you can still play the entire game as a single player experience. I may try a bit of the online stuff, but only if it is mostly cooperative.

If it's anything like ESO, and i suspect it will be, you can probably do all of the main and side quests solo if you want. But there's still people around so you could end up co-oping a quest or boss. The only things in ESO you needed to co-op are the larger group dungeons and group bosses because you likely can't survive those solo....but those aren't part of the main questlines and were mostly just loot grabs anyways. I'm also guessing that VATS is gone and it's gonna be more of a twitch shooter now.

I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about an online only Fallout.

If they fixed the inventory issues of Fallout 4 it should be really good, co-op or solo. I like the West Virginia setting and the idea of base building for a reason.

I think those thread titles I posted include some terrible over-reactions, but from my perspective the challenges of co-op have to do with speed. When I play Fallout or TES, I go hella sloooooow. Not sure that pacing (reading every book/console, exploring every filing cabinet for caps, sneaking up on enemies for stealthy kills) will be part of the co-op experience. But then again, I haven't even played FO4 yet, so I don't think I'd jump directly into this one.

You have 6 months to complete FO4.

0 interest in a multi-player Fallout, and I don't want bigger, I want more gameplay options.

I've got to post like this more often! At work I've been doing extra work and taking on more responsibilities for no extra pay, and yesterday my boss sat me down and she said she tried to get me a bonus, but the higher ups wouldn't have it. But she got approval to give me $500 worth of points on our company's rewards website, and they have a PS4 Pro there, so I'll br Fallouting sooner rather than later.
