The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

A question for those who hacked their SNES Classics, what method did you use to do it?
I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to this kind of thing, but I really want to play some Ken Griffey baseball and Turtles in Time.
i used hakchi. there is a post back on pg 4. it was pretty simple. i've hacked 5 or 6 of them for friends without issue.
That's a weekend project for me some day. How long does it take?
Faster than you think. It'll take you longer to get the roms.
Did you torrent the ROMs or get them from somewhere else? I haven't really done any research (obviously).
i just found a big torrent with every ROM and cherry picked what i wanted inside the tool. if you're anal about the cover art used in the system it could take you awhile, but otherwise it'll take about 30 minutes tops. it's a real simple process.

There's a reddit that has some spreadsheet with most all of the art on it. Reddit's blocked here so I can't search for it but it's there somewhere and that's what I used. There's also a website - also blocked here - that has a lot of custom art already sized for the emulator if the OG stuff isn't what you want.

How many games can you fit on the NES Classic? SNES Classic?

Yeah, this was pretty easy to do. Hardest part was resisting the temptation to throw a bunch of games on there that I know I would hardly ever play. I already have one I want to take off (sorry Super Tennis). I did get stuck with some shitty PAL boxart but I don't care enough to go back and fix it.

I bought a RetroPi. 22,000 games.
That number alone exhausts me.
Right? If i'm being honest with myself there's at best maybe 20 games per console that interest me. Though I have been planning to get a retropi and curating a greatest hits kind of collection for myself and including all the other classic 90s consoles.

PS1 classic coming Dec 3.
Not sure how interested I am at $129.99 CAN though. That might be the price point that convinces me to finally build a Pi. I also think that by the time we hit this era of video games, they stop looking retro and start looking really dated (probably the shift from sidescroll to 3D).
Just saw a whole display of PSN classics at my local walmart for 49.96 CAN. That's quite a precipitous drop. Still not really interested. Ya done fucked it up SONY!
