this is their MO for the past several iterations now. Looks awesome, and assuming the map layout improves on BFV, I'll be all over this once they get the bugs worked out.
How does it compare to BFV? I thought the maps and audio were both awful, and the crafting element was lame. If those elements are gone/improved upon, then IMO we're back on track.
I think crafting is here to stay. Games like Escape from Tarkov, PlayerUnknown: Battlegrounds, Apex Legends and CoD Warzone all have some degree of crafting on the fly I'm pretty sure, and they're all the rage these days!
Replaying Bloodborne while i wait for FarCry 6 to come out. Hope it doesn't turn out to be a turd but the review embargo has me nervous.
Is it a new game plus run or a new go at it?
fresh start. it's been a couple years so i figured i should start back at the bottom . i'm surprised at how much of the game has stayed with me. They normally call that PTSD, right?
The emotional scarring is part of the process...
fuck, i forgot how much of a bastard Rom the Vacuous Spider is....

In the church, right?
nah, he's the one out in the lake with all the little minion spiders that can pretty much 1-hit kill you. it's a long battle.

Doom Eternal is an absolute blast. Takes everything that worked in Doom (2016) and just turns it up a few notches. The next gen patch to run in 120 fps is almost too much for the senses.

Always wanted to try this but never gave it much thought. May have to check it out....
I recently wrapped up Ghost of Tsushima and the expansion. The instantaneous fast travel possible with the PS5 is very, very impressive. It was one of the few times where I wasn’t sure if I was playing as the protagonist or antagonist (in the main game). I still find this game odd - other 1st party Sony games operate in this space already - why even make this?

There's other open world samurai games? To me it was more akin to an Assassin's Creed game than anything in Sony's stable. Days Gone being the closest thing, but Ghost is clearly a step above that title.

I thought it was too close to Horizon. Similar game (with some identical mechanics), different coat of paint. It's funny you mention AC, I read this was originally green lighted to be an AC clone, but to me, it felt very Sony in the end. I liked my time in the game and had no major issues and would probably play a sequel. I'm just saying Sony could have developed a game that operated in a more singular space. Jak & Daxter, Twisted Metal, Colony Wars, Spyro, Ape Escape, Syphon Filter, Sly Cooper are dormant Sony franchises that all operate in a much more unique space.

Back to this after a sabbatical to play and finish Metroid Dread.
Just beat Until Dawn. I really thought they nailed it - it really had an interactive horror movie vibe. I felt having characters die felt more in tune with the game's tone than survival. I seem to remember this game got a lot of shit when it came out, but I can't tell why. Probably better than most Telltale games.
