The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Just finished Sonic The Hedgehog 1 (1993) for the first time in years.
Did you use save states or rewind?
In the 90s I beat it several times on the megadrive (genesis) with no cheating. This celebration edition had unlimited lives. Not saying what I did was impressive, but I had fun playing through the game. Will do the other Sonics that are there as well (2, 3 and cd).

No judgement here. I find several classic games to be nearly unplayable with save states and rewind.

Huh? Why would save states make a game unplayable? I love that feature.

No but it looks like something that would soak up a lot of my time.
btw I am playing Darkest Dungeon again, and its so much fun. I love the art style and everything. Killed the first Crimson Court boss finally last night.
I haven't played much DD, I just know the mechanics are similar to BB. DD's art style is one of the best I've ever seen, though. I should give it a shot.
You'd be wise to avoid BB if you're worried about time sink. It's too damn good.
They say you shouldn't get attached to your bros because they're likely to die or become permanently maimed. I had a brawler who lost his nose in battle, effectively ruining his stamina. I gave him a war banner so that he could still contribute without getting into the thick of it. Then my archer suffered a permanently broken elbow, rendering him completely useless. Another frontliner was struck down by a vampire and, whilst surviving the ordeal, is now permanently traumatized -- meaning he will break and flee the moment something doesn't go our way. I have another guy who suffered fucking brain damage.
It might be time to disband and start over. This game is amazing.

Have you played Battle Brothers? Shit is wild.

I don't lose many characters in DD anymore (mainly because I run when my characters get too stressed out) but i still occasionally run into a boss or something that wrecks my party. It's getting hard to complete long missions though. You can remove negative traits from characters, but it's expensive and not usually worth the money. Most are minor enough that you can deal with. Or you can just fire them. But I get too attached to my teams.

i've never played a fallout game. Should I try one? If so, which one?
I'd say either Fallout 3 or Fallout 4. I know New Vegas has a rabid following, but I think there's so much more to do in the other games. In NV, you spend a lot of time walking through the desert, even in the late game.
If you can stand playing a PS3-era game, I'd start with 3. If you want something with some more polish, start with 4.
Tree is a bit of a hard line graphics guy so FO4 is the obvious choice. 15 years ago I would've recommended FO2, but it's essentially butchered by modern screen resolutions. Maybe you can mod it?
