Finally starting Baldur's Gate 3!
Nearly two weeks later, playing for at least an hour a day, sometimes more (I put in 3 hours last night), and I’m not yet out of Act I. But I might be close?
How are you liking it thus far?
The stories and lore are so deep that I’m worried I’m missing so much; if I play through again, I’ll definitely use different companions to get different relationships and dialogue. I think things like combat have had a tough learning curve but have leveled out to where things are challenging but doable if I’m paying attention. There was a particular fight against a beholder where I was down to one party member with like 5 HP left when I dealt the final blow, which was very exciting.
There are some mechanics that I’ve gotten a little tired of. Inventory management, on Xbox at least, is a pain in the ass. Seems like it’d be much easier with a mouse. The way that you have to just take a long rest after every moderately difficult battle also seems a bit off—from what I understand about D&D, DMs usually only allow those when it narratively makes sense, but in BG3 you just get magically transported to your camp and you eat some fish (and maybe boink a companion). In my last few hours I’ve been avoiding this by managing how many spells I use per battle, which feels a little more realistic, but the fact that there aren’t rails there preventing the overuse of long rests is just odd.
I got about 10 hours into Persona 5 before I tapped out. I'm 2.5 into Persona 3 Reload and really liking it, but these long ass tutorials are tough to get through.
Have started a bunch of games and nothing is really hooking me. Persona 3 just seems like such a huge undertaking.
So I'm restarting Cyberpunk, and my god, it looks incredible now. Played it at launch and still loved it, but the upgrades are very noticeable.
I really need to try this, I regrettably bought it for cheap back in 2020 when it bombed but decided to hold off on playing it until they put out the PS5 update/upgrade. Plus with the well-reviewed Phantom Liberty expansion, think it's time to finally dive in.
Getting into the Final Fantasy pixel remakes and starting with the original. Bumping up the experience multiplier because there's no way I'm wasting my time grinding up levels on this.
