You set a waypoint and then hold a button to autopilot. It is kind of wonky, but worth it for the cinematic camera.

I bet this game would be fun with the new Bruce album in the background...

PS4’s ability to offer your own soundtrack while gaming is virtually non-existent. Can the Spotify app run in the background while you game? The only other option I know of is to pop on a USB stick of music while you play your game.

Yup. Works great.

Wow I had never thought of doing that. There are a number of Lanegan tunes that I could (and have) envisioned riding to in this game. This sounds like a good weekend task....

Love, love, love this game. Once you get used to the slowness it is absolutely intoxicating. Love riding around and rolling up on homesteads and seeing what weird shit will be at each one. Looking for environmental clues (campfires, etc.) is also really fun, not to mention the main story which is quite well done. I've already had some incredibly memorable little encounters.

Yes, didn't think of it but intoxicating is a perfect word to describe this game. The world they've created really is gorgeous and even though I blew through the story and a handful of side missions, I still feel like there's so much more I haven't experienced yet.

Can't decide which feeling is best: finding buried treasure, rolling up on some weird shit at a campfire, or getting free stuff from folks I've saved. All awesome in their own way.

I am still in a deep love affair with this game. At its best it really is a Western novel come to life. There are so many little, brilliant touches that make the world seem really alive, and such a new way of thinking about the task/reward exchange of video games. There have been many missions/side quests/moments where the reward is not money, or a thing, but an experience, or even just a mood. The visual storytelling is so great. The feeling of arriving in a new place where everything seems normal but little details pop out as you look closer never stops being engrossing and immersive. Honestly, I am starting to consider it not only a great technical achievement, but a milestone in so many areas--pastiche, our relationship to our own history, the idea of American mythology, etc.

I could go on. What a fucking game.

Death Stranding and this are kind of opposites to me. I enjoyed the missions in Death Stranding more, but there's almost zero exploration. My least favorite moments of RDR2 were probably the story missions (a lot of variations of go here, have in argument, big gunfight) but the exploration is the best of any game I've ever played. I went weeks in Red Dead without doing a story mission at one point.

Have you ever played Breath of the Wild?
