Also wouldn't surprise me if a GTA 6 has been in the works for a while now given Rockstar's track record of radio silence through development. Agree it's in the realm of possible to see their next offering in 2020/2021, likely on the next gen platform.

It would be completely messed up if GTA skipped an entire generation of consoles. However, I believe Rockstar is opposed to releasing "launch window" games since the user base is so low at that point. They never have released a game early in a console's lifecycle, have they?

You're onto something here. GTAV came out just 2 months before the PS4's/Xbox 1's release.

They'll probably do a console generation crossover release again. I ended up buying GTA V twice because of that.

The only GTA game I ever rebought for a new system was when they put San Andreas on the XBox Arcade. And that version glitched me at 99/100 gang tags sprayed and I never played it again after that, fuck that shit.

I'm way more excited about Red Dead 2 than I will be about GTA VI.

Good points--hey I'd be all for a new GTA release prior to the next gen console, just wouldn't expect it these days the way they've been milking the online piece, which I'm sure will be no different for RDR2, though I am truly hoping they put more emphasis (and DLC) toward single player content this time around.

I got screwed on buying GTAV twice too. Was surprised they never invested in an RDR1 remaster as I'm sure it would have also sold well given it's history.

Same here! GTAV was fun and all but the story and characters were pretty forgettable. I played the shit out of GTAIV multiplayer back in the day in the early PS3 days but could never get into GTAV online.

GTA Online was fun for 5 minutes and then I stopped caring.

That was even before hackers were rampant. Anyone remember the fiasco when Rockstar had to give every online player $500,000 because hackers started gifting everyone they played with millions of dollars?

Oh shit, this comes out next month already?! Whoa, much sooner than I was expecting. I probably won't even be done with Assassin's Creed: Odyssey by then. Plus that's right before Halloween. I'll probably wait a little on this one.

I can't wait to read/see play this. I just have a feeling it is going to be a game changer for open world games.

Same--they're due for another gameplay video release and I'm hoping it will be soon now that a few of the AAA releases (like Spider Man and Tomb Raider) are out of the way. Both of the aforementioned games are great BTW, but RDR2 (I'm hoping) could be one of those current gen-defining, genre bench-marking games.

Horses also "poop dynamically." The level of detail in this game sounds unreal, been reading the hands on impressions this evening. Almost overwhelming just reading what you can do, customize, interact, etc. Holy schnikes
