Anyone here interested in an RM survivor league? Could be fun. $25 buy-in with one buy back option. Money via to durdencommatyler's Venmo account to be distributed to the winner? We all know that he's the most trustworthy one here besides Ruddo, who will of course be participating.

I gotta be honest here, you'd have a hard time finding a more trustworthy RM'er in real life than yours truly.

The Hall of Fame game is tonight and completely meaningless. But it's the first on the field action in six months and is going to get a lot of eyeballs for that reason alone. Plus Dallas is playing.

Ah, but will the paint on the field turn to goo this time?

Best case he's out for 6-8 but that knee is a time bomb

The esteemed Dr. James Andrews allegedly recommended against surgery, as did several other top surgeons. That's the official story, at least.

My son wanted Cards v. Cowboys tickets for his birthday. The nosebleeds were $275 each.

He's getting Cards v. 49ers tickets and a nice lunch out for his birthday.

And it's a done deal. Thankfully for Miami he isn't getting paid as a starting QB.

I'm really trying to reserve judgment because not one down has been played yet, but Glennon actually has played NFL football at a fairly decent level when he had the opportunity. I seriously question any idea that Trubisky who just fumbled the exchange 3 times in a single practice could actually be ahead of Glennon if he "flashes" in the preseason. It's the preseason. I'd imagine he would play a ton and hopefully do some good things, but if he actually outplays Glennon I'd be pretty surprised.

I still can't find a single solitary tangible reason why Mitchell Trubisky would be drafted over Deshaun Watson (except possibly arm strength) and I certainly don't think Trubisky would be a starter from day one unless they are justifying what they gave up to get him or that next year really doesn't matter for the Bears anyway so pull the band aid off. I don't think anyone is really thinking Watson would start early this year either barring injury.

Trubisky is a very talented guy no doubt, but I kind of feel like this is way way more pressure than he deserves. If they give him some time to adjust to the NFL like was afforded Glennon early in his career I'd feel a little more confident of his long term success.

One of my favorite football columns, Gregg Easterbrook's TMQ, returns August 22 in a venue to be announced. I hope he can revert back similar to what it was with ESPN, the NY Times version wasn't as good but certainly better than when Easterbrook took last year off (his choice or not). I even enjoyed his non-football comments.
I'm a long time reader of Peter King's MMQB but their layout is increasingly maddening.
