Falcons are dangerous because they have the experience. I'd take them over the Vikings or Philly, newbies like the Rams.

I wouldn't give up anything more than a 4th for a 34 year old QB with one year left on his contract and yet another playoff choke on his resume.

Yep. Especially the one you know is going to be free because his team has to cut him by the May deadline in order to save a boatload of cash.

From the odd ball facts department:

1. Mariota's TD was legit and only the second time it's ever happened:

http://www.latimes.com/sports/nfl/la-sp ... story.html

It appears to be only the second time in NFL history that a quarterback has completed a scoring pass to himself. Brad Johnson was credited with the first in 1997.

Johnson, playing with the Minnesota Vikings during a game against the Carolina Panthers, attempted a pass from the three-yard line during the fourth quarter that was deflected back to him by Ray Seals. Johnson ran to his right for a touchdown and a 14-7 lead. The Vikings would eventually win the game 21-14.

2. And the Chiefs have now lost six home playoff games in a row.

Also saw that Andy Reid is 0-2 in the playoffs after going into halftime with a lead of 18 points or more.

I'm glad you said it, so I didn't have to. I didn't want to be the bitter, angry, "that guy" fan.

And now Jeff Tripplette is retiring.

That means we get those 2 points back right? So we won! :hooray:

When the At-Your-Own-Risk nature of the Bills' parking lot comes to Jacksonville:

Yeah that was a terrible call. They missed quite a few calls in that game.

From what I've heard, those Rooney Rule interviews with a 0% chance of success are actually very helpful to young coaches with no head coach interviewing experience. They are either opportunities to receive immediate interview feedback or for the interviewing front-office to let other teams know how well an interview went.

The Chiefs actually don't have to cut Smith if they don't want to. It looks like they are in cap hell but they have a lot of other ways to get out of it, although it will involve saying goodbye to a couple longtime Chiefs. Derrick Johnson's contract will void and free up $8 million. If Tamba Hali is cut they save another $8 million. Those two alone almost equal Smith's cap savings if cut. I know what their history is in KC but at some point you just can't pay that kind of money to players past their prime. They can also restructure a ton of players (Houston, Berry, Fisher, Kelce) to get even more room.

The Chiefs can absolutely sit on Smith for a while and try to find a trade partner. I just think it would be foolish for any team to give up a fortune to get him.

All fair points. And I'll be clear that I want Smith to stay in KC next year. Tamba Hali is one of my all time favorite NFL players. But even I can admit it's time to move on.

A Falcons Pats SB would be a fitting ending to this lame NFL season.

Did I see that right, a Bills fan with Zubaz pants high-fiving a Jaguars fan with Zubaz pants. Wow! Just wow! They haven't made those things in 20 years.

Bortles showing a lot of toughness and a will to win.

Still not very good at throwing, but at least he's tough.

Lorenzo Alexander is an awesome Linebacker, but nice pass by Bortles.
