The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
even sprinting for like a minute after 2-3 miles is good. obviously, don't hurt yourself, but see how it feels and see if you can push it further. i remember being so out of breath after runs i felt like i was gonna pass out and thought about calling 911. you probably don't want to do that lol.
17 pounds, what limb did you cut off? lol but seriously good work fellas, you guys are kicking ass in here.
i think even after you reach your goal you need to experiment with how to maintain what you want. at the same time, you want to be consistent with exercising and eating. weightlifting and cardio should always go together. you can even build muscle in your face/neck from lifting, you just naturally tense up when you lift weights. pay attention to what you are eating and the results you get when you exercise.
being so close to the weight you want, maybe you want to incorporate a new goal. whether it's a faster mile time or heavier bench press, i always like having a goal to reach.
speaking of cardio, i always sprint at the end. it's usually only like 1/4 mile, but i've done this since i was a teenager. it might just be a mental thing at this point, but i think its a great idea if you don't mind feeling like death for a minute.
I try to do the same at the end of runs. Sometimes I have to slow down just a bit or walk right before, but I like finishing as strongly as I can.
Coach welcomes anyone looking to start the New Year with a little weight loss to the weight loss thread. I'm anticipating that my gym will be a bit more crowded in early January.....
And as we say at Planet Fitness, it's the "no judgement zone," so all are welcomed here and at the gym regardless of where you are in your fitness journey.
Although if you are super overweight, RMer Warehouse highly recommends wearing a trash bag for the first few workouts to get a solid sweat in and good start.
