Joe Mauer if he’d played his whole career in Boston? |

Phenomenal peak. I don't know about the longevity though. |

He has had a few of his best years, ALDS MVP and was a strike away (in two different innings) from a ring in Texas. Well - gotta be Rangers I guess. |

The players used to be able to choose what they wore until Wade Boggs tried to sell the cap he would wear in his final contract with the Devil Rays. |

The committee that voted in Baines included Reinsdorf and Larussa. Also Pat Gillick, his former GM in Baltimore. |

baines was a DH for close to 20 seasons. he is the all time leader for most sunflower seeds consumed/spat. |

Baines averaged 17.5 HRs and 74 RBI per season, FOREVER. He was a solid and remarkably consistent hitter for 22 freaking years. His counting numbers are solely based on longevity which was only possible because he was a career DH. That’s a good hitter, not a great one, with zero defensive value. Possibly the least deserving player selected for the HOF. |

There is going to be more of this type of thing from the Today's Game Committee. Reinsdorf rammed this one through. Former players are also on this committee. |
