A good longread on how the LA vote went down.

http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_ ... os-angeles

My favorite part was this sick burn by Jerruh:
Quote:
Michael Bidwill, president of the Cardinals and a Carson supporter, argued that the NFL doesn't exist just to make rich owners richer. Owners needed to consider what would be best for the league, and ...

Jones cut him off: "When you guys moved the team from St. Louis to Phoenix -- it wasn't about the money?"

As Bidwill tried to answer, Jones moved in for the kill: "You did it for the money."

What perfect timing!

An astounding turn: After Rams moved, fewer people watched the NFL in LA

I was curious as to what you thought, since you live rather far away from California. Your secondary fandom came from relatives, in San Diego, right? If so, I can understand how pissed you'd be.

Given how small I'm learning that stadium is, you could probably find 30,000 other Broncos fans nearby you to sell out that place before any Chargers fans do.

once the schedule comes out we'll probably get tickets to every game that doesn't involve me missing a bronco game

At this point, it's more sentimental than anything. The Chargers have always been my 2nd team, and my allegiance stems from my aunt and uncle (good memory). Yet, I'm profoundly sad. It feels like yet another part of my childhood has been ripped away from me. It's like how Christmas is never the same after you or your kids stop believing in Santa.

Deadspin had a great article this morning about how it's never about the fans and always about money, despite the owners shoving that platitude down our throats.

It's going to be fun watching both shitty teams leave LA after failing again and wanting a new stadium in 20 years.

1994 all over again. Fuck NFL owners. No public money for private stadiums ever.

Spanos and Jeffery Loria are the worst owners in sports history. Move them to London and call them the Silly Nannies

:( Not a Chargers fan really, but the move to LA sucks.

I think I like the NFL less and less each year.
