Not going to lie, I don't really watch college ball outside of Mizzou until late February. Just way too many games/teams/players to keep track of.
That being said, I think the rule changes are going to make the sport more watchable to the casual fan. I've been to a few Mizzou games already and they seem to move at a much faster pace.

Which oldtime RM poster was betrayed the most by his pride in the sports forum: pearljamminagain or GrimmaceXX?

I would have also mentioned holierthanthou, but being a Browns and Leafs fan didn't really leave him many opportunities to be embarrassed on the biggest stages.

Providence (#23 at 7-1!) got #1 in ESPN's scariest mascot rankings:
Quote:
From the Providence website: "Whenever he appears on the campus at the top of Smith Hill, at the Dunk, at Schneider Arena, or anywhere else in the state of Rhode Island, a true Friar Fanatic cannot help but to stop, smile, and let out their loudest yell." Wait. You all smile when you see this thing? You don't run? Why aren't you running? Grab the children and run!

My alma mater (PC) is thriving because of this, I think: the players tend to stick around longer, they're still facing tough competition in the conference, so they're gelling as a team. We're going to have a 2nd year player jump ship after this season, which hasn't happened in a while.

The roster turnover (everywhere) makes it hard to stay committed as a fan anymore.
Unless of course you root for a powerhouse that just reloads every year and is a lock for the Sweet 16.
Agreed. I cheer for a pretty mediocre team and every year I need a roster sheet to know half the team.
My team (UW) has a 9-man rotation this year and 7 of them are freshmen.
It's not only "bad" for my own team, but it's just as "bad" for the opposing teams ... I don't know who is good or what to look for, and it's hard to develop a good rivalry anymore. No revenge or anything the following year because (over) half of the participants from the previous year's game have moved on.
There is a lot of chatter about the NBDL supplanting college hoops for the best high school players. Minor league hoops, pay the players. I would support it over the situation we have now.

Yeah, expand the D League so every team has a team they own and operate. Then have high school players pick between being drafted or going to college for 2 or 3 years minimum, similar to baseball. You could even move the draft earlier so if a kid doesn't get drafted they could still go to school.
I was at Sportclips earlier and they had Miami vs. Duke on. That #23 from Miami looks like a beast.
I watched a little of that game, college basketball is just so utterly dead if you don't have a rooting interest. Hard to get excited for me, even in march.

Pretty much. The new rules are making the game a bit more exciting.
