The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

Prohibit the commercial break --> now we're going to challenge the ruling --> commercial break sequence. Just review it during the initial commercial break.
These pauses are magnified by 1000 in person. Its amazing how much standing around happens during an NFL game.
Oh man. My first ever NFL game was one that was being broadcast nationally. I was amazed at how much standing around there was. The players looked bored sometimes out there.

It's not as cool as when they stop the game for 5 minutes in the 3rd inning of a 7-0 game to have a Zapruder film style breakdown of a close play at first.

Yeah, that situation is annoying but you really can't pick and choose when the game is out of hand enough to do it. So you have to accept those if you want them reviewed in close games.

See, I dont. In a perfect world, I'd like the umpires to always get the calls right, but I'm willing to accept bad calls to not be stopping the game all the time. It's not like they arent still getting calls wrong after watching replays, anyway. I know most of you guys feel the opposite, but thats just the way I view it. I also feel like it will get like the NFL where what started as a small replay institution turns into a system that calls for every scoring play etc. to be replayed.

There are 2430 games per year and last year there were 1276 reviews. So, overall, the average is one review every two games. The only timing data I can find is from May of last year, but in the first two months of the season, replays average 1:59 in length. Let's be really generous and say the average is up to 3 minutes now.
So instant replay is adding about a minute and a half to the length of the average game.
That seems like a pretty reasonable amount of time to have to endure given that nearly half of those challenges resulted in calls being overturned. That's 600+ calls over the course of a season that umps got wrong.
