in the sake that he was the last one playing yes, but still, i dont think i could put him realistically in the top 5

technically him and kaepernick were the last ones playing. ;)

dude on philly radio was going off yesterday about how flacco is #3 behind brady and rodgers. no thank you. flacco is obviously top ten, arguably top 5, but you better have great counsel to make that argument.

Ugh. I'm getting really tired of the QB debate.

Flacco is a very good QB, he just won the Super Bowl. Who cares if he's the best? He's up for a contract and he's going to be paid handsomely. Depending on where the Cap is set, 20 million a year could be about right, or it could be freaking terrible. I doubt he holds out for 20 million when he could make 15-17 and play on a better team. Ask Drew Brees how that money worked out last year. That defense is the worst defense in the history of the NFL and they have to cut players.

Merrill Hoge's opinion is pretty much worthless like that of most of the people on ESPN who are very good at generating discussion, but very bad at having lucid, reasoned opinions on virtually anything.

This means you John Skipper.

merrill hodge just says things to get a reaction. when the birds got TO he predicted they'd go 8-8. when they started the season 7-0 he refused to go back on his prediction. if he's saying flacco is the best in the league, it should be clear that flacco is not.

It's kind of like people who keep asking Brain Damaged Bill Romanowski for an opinion on air.

The way I see it, Flacco has proven himself to be on the level of Ben Roethlisberger. If you put him in the right system, with the right players around him, he can succeed. That's what he's proven this season. However, I'm still very skeptical of the notion that he could go to any old team and turn it around on its own. If you put Brady, Manning, or Rodgers on, say, the Cardinals or Jaguars, they could become instant contenders. I don't think that would be the case with Big Ben or Flacco.

i think I'd rather have Flacco on my team in the playoffs than Manning. Pyton is a better QB, but he does choke.

maybe

Flacco has always been a great boundary passer but it seems like he's definitely improved throwing over the middle more than anything. That was one of the more ridiculous games I've seen a QB play. Some of those passes where he was rolling to the sideline or fading back and he still completed it were unbelievable. Pretty good timing to have three of your top five career games in the playoffs right before your contract is up too.
