Yeah, with their backup QB. Who maybe should be the starter.

Let's trade for a serial sexual assaulter

I'd rather just keep sucking than root for Watson

At this point, Grier can't draft and Flores has no idea how to build an NFL offense

Like I said in the offseason, when you're on OC #3 and #4 and OL coach, what, #5(?) in basically 2 calendar years, at what point is the problem the guy hiring those guys and not those guys?

Yeah, obviously Flores is a fantastic defensive coach but you're right, he apparently has no clue how to run an offense or to even hire an offensive coach. Greer should probably bring in a reputable, experienced guy to take over the offense completely. I guess they thought they tried that route with Gailey, but this direction is worse.

Miami has 3 guys in the top 20 for most pressures allowed. Austin Jackson is #6 despite missing the first week. It’s almost impossible to evaluate anything about an offense when defenses can bring so much pressure so consistently often without blitzing. Not to defend anything about the offensive coaching, though. That pass to Waddle in the endzone has to be one of the most perplexing play calls I’ve ever seen. And they’ve managed to make Waddle’s speed a non factor. Incredible.

I wonder if the onus is on Brissett on that play. He looks awfully confused sometimes.

Only insofar as him changing the play call because it was beyond stupid. The OC, well one of the OC's said today that was the play call. But he took the snap and threw immediately. Idk. He was just a good soldier. He didn't know what they were doing to the prisoners.

:!: :!:

There is some talent on the offense, and Brissett actually throws some nice passes. But yeah, they need a couple seconds.

Before the ball came out of his hand I was yelling "Oh my God." One of the most bizarrely indefensible play calls I've ever seen. PFF has it as the first reception for a safety without a penalty or fumble in their database.

Surely Brissett was supposed to scan the defense and check out of it if needed. If they caught the defense off-guard it could have been a clever play, but alas they were obviously all over it. I don't care what the coaches say, it was Brissett's fault. But hey, he certainly made up for that in the end of the 4th. What an effort that was.

That's fine. Idk what the defense could have looked like to make that the right call. Maybe if they forgot to put a CB on that side of the field. It's hard to imagine how that could have ever made any sense.

Well, they were backed up against their own end zone, so you'd expect them to come out in a heavier set and try to get a yard or two running up the middle. So if you somehow tricked them to preparing for that, and then spread out 5 wide, there could be a favorable matchup that could spring Waddle loose. I get that thinking. But as I said, it wasn't in the cards. Should've folded and tried another hand.

Can't throw a pass 4 yards deep in the end zone. I've been waiting my whole life for Miami to run a successful WR screen and this wasn't the time to try.

If it worked, we'd be gushing over their voluptuous balls right now.

If that's the case then no play call can be criticized.

Yeah but I admire it. It was high risk/potentially high reward. If there were one less defensive player in the area, and the receiver(s) actually blocked for Waddle, who knows? The point is that the QB needs to see these things. It was terribly executed all around. I don't blame the play call.

But there was no WR to block and he got taken down by a single defender. It was 1 on 1 which seems like the best case version for that play. Idk. I hated everything about it as it was happening. If it worked I think my reaction would have been "Wow, got away with one there."
