read that league sources are saying that washington is no longer interested in pursuing belichik.

he'll want control over player personnel. not many teams are gonna want to give him that (including atlanta).

damnit, maybe he will end up in carolina.

interesting

i doubt mayo gets personnel decisions too though?

sounds like it was the total control aspect that ultimately ran belichick stale

I wonder if they don’t need to go through the hiring process because they didn’t fire Belichick.

I still think the Rooney rule would apply though.

Yeah, would this succession plan have been allowed if he were white? I'm guessing not. Didn't the Cowboys get in trouble for something like that awhile back? Jason Garrett maybe?

I don't know all the rules, but I wonder if because they didn't fire Bill, nor did he resign...is the reason they were able to do it this way.

But he did resign. He voluntarily stepped down from his position. That’s the very definition of resign.

who is NE's GM now? they have the #3 pick in the draft ... managing that is probably more important at this point i would think

no dis to Mayo

but he is prob more of the same from a coaching standpoint

sounded like the shakeup they needed was in personnel / GM
