The only way this causes Vince to go is if the mainstream media really jumps on this story and the TV partners start wanting him out. I don’t think this will happen.

I don’t see how WWE could possibly get worse, Vince going is the best thing that could happen to the product. An NBC owned Disney with someone half decent running the creative is much better than the status quo.

WWEs worst period was around 2010. It's definitely better now than it was then.

I dunno, I guess it's just personal preference, but I find the current product unwatchable in a way that I dont about any other time period.

Don’t even remotely agree. Back then you had CM Punk and Daniel Bryan on the rise, and a lot of things happening. I watched all PPVs, Raw, Smackdown and even some other WWE stuff back then. Now it is trash.

I feel like, with a big media conglomerate coming in and swallowing them up, the last vestiges of the dangerous, unpredictable carnival atmosphere will be swept away for good. But let's face it, that's been dead for over a decade anyway. Now it just feels like a badly scripted tv show. They could at least make it a decent one.

Let's face it: What made pro wrestling great in the 80s and 90s was that it was made by coke and steroid fueled freaks, con artists, carnival barkers and outright monsters. These Nietzschean "blonde beasts" wandered across the US, plundering small towns and big cities, taking what they wanted whether by hook or crook, occasionally even murdering or getting murdered in the process. And they were as hard on themselves as they were with their marks, swindling and abusing each other as they went. Most of the greats were dead by 50. Such is the life of the free. In this way is greatness made.
But like all things, the relentless march of civilization and "progress" comes in and castrates it. Makes it "better". Makes is safer. Scripts it. Sterilizes it. The newcomers are forced to play the game, because the old time life-lovers could never hope to compete with careerists and corporate execs.
The railroads have been built. The frontier's days are numbered.
