Overall I thought this was the best Mania in ages. For night two, I LOVED every second of Zayn-Knoxville and thought McAfee’s match was fun. I felt like the two big matches were both kind of snoozers, but overall this was probably the best Mania since at least 30.
Just listened to a couple of podcasts about Wrestlemania. Whatculture had some good, but also several poor points. Then listened to Wrestling Observer with Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez. Don’t always agree with them, but they were spot on here. Them talking about the Vince match had me laughing harder than Mania did.

I thought that Cody Rollins and Becky Bianca were the only good matches on either show but the Gaga this year was so top notch that it made this a very fun show.

I don’t begrudge anyone getting paid as much money as they can in this business, so good for Cody. For me though, I find his comments this weekend and his promo on raw come off incredibly phoney and off putting if you’ve been familiar with his work the last few years. Everything he says contradicts just about everything he said during the last 5 years.

The backhanded “I worked with everyone I wanted to work with” comment especially feels super petty. He keeps saying “it was just time” but then always throws in some kind of backhanded remark right after that. If you think about it, he is the one that needed AEW 3 years ago, not Kenny or the Young Bucks. They both had big money deals on the table from WWE when AEW launched, Cody was the one that had no options.
