It was an amazing match. I caught it on YouTube yesterday, I don't know if it's still up. The 6 star rating is ridiculous and kind of makes a joke out of Meltzer's system, but it's absolutely worth watching.

It's a pretty great match. Giving it 6 stars is ridiculous, and I think giving it 5 stars is a bit of a stretch. I understand them starting slow because they were gonna go for almost an hour, but it did drag for the first 15 minutes.
The final 5 minutes is pretty spectacular, but there were still lots of selling issues with both men which is especially frustrating when a lot of the moves they were hitting looked/sounded extremely stiff and painful.

Yeah, the lack of selling in wrestling today in general is bad. I only see a little bit of the New Japan stuff, but I think it's kind of weird that Okada's finisher is a clothesline when all the moves that lead up to it are much more devastating. I would give the match 5 stars though.

I wouldn't argue that much with anyone giving the match 5 stars, because the finishing 10 minutes was breathtaking to watch. However, after the excitement wears off I still can't help but grumble.
You're right in that The Rainmaker looks nowhere near as devastating as some of the other stuff he pulled out during the match, but I suppose it's just like any other superstar with a finisher that's over. The People's Elbow was a frickin' elbow drop but Rock would often get the pin when he hit it, despite hitting bigger moves
I like Sami Zayn because even in today's WWE where it feels like everyone is told not to sell that much and just trade high impact moves over and over, he still makes a real point of selling and looking like he's been through an absolute war.

One thing I really like about New Japan whenever I see it is how the matches seem to always be clean, a bunch of guys were at ringside for that much and none of them interfered. Contrast that with WWE, who last week basically had a match where the winner won the right to interfere in a match later in the show.

Looks like they set up the main matches at Wrestlemania last night. Cena-Taker for the title, Reigns-Strowman for the title, and Jericho-Owens for the US. Add that to HHH-Rollins and Lesnar-Goldberg that they've already set up. If the plan for Styles is to job him out to Corbin, I'm going to puke.
Cena-Taker doesn't need the title to be hyped. I think that would be a huge mistake. As well as asking Roman Reigns of all people to carry Strowman to a good main event level match.

Agreed on both, neither needs the title to make it any better and youre taking the titles away from 2 of your best guys to do it.

My friends and I tried to make it work to go to the rumble. We had also talked about mania, but there's no way I could make it work with all the damn weddings I'm going to/in

If they had just turned Reigns at Wrestlemania 31 when it was blatantly obvious that it needed to happen, he would be an over babyface by now. Instead they just keep unsuccessfully trying to ram this thing through.
