I gave AEW a good shot, but it's not for me. The presentation is good, but I don't really care for the actual wrestling.
I just finished a fantastic (and I think ongoing) series about AJPW in the late 80s/early 90s.
It focuses on the 4 pillars of All Japan, Misawa, Kobashi, Taue and Kawada. Personally I think this is probably the best period of pro wrestling and the narrator does a great job of contextualizing everything and laying out the psychology of the matches.
I highly recommend it. He also has a series on Daniel Bryan vs Nigel McGuiness that's excellent as well.

I attended most of the NWAs TV tapings and PPVs and I can confirm that Ricky Starks is an absolute star.

Pretty much everyone in NWA is a free agent right now, except for maybe Aldis.

The thunderdome isn’t perfect, but I gotta disagree about the performance center. That atmosphere was DEAD and was killing their shows, anything is better than staying in there.
agreed. the THUNDERDOME has been a big improvement, canned audience and all.
i've tried to get into aew and i just haven't been able to buy in yet. i do like orange cassidy, jericho has been great (out of the ring, anyway), and some other things here and there have been enjoyable, but for the most part they haven't done anything to get me to want to watch every week. wwe today doesn't either, so it's not like i'm praising one over the other here, but i guess i was hoping that at this point i'd be more in to aew than i am.

Since the pandemic started I’ve been watching every WCW ppv in order, I’m up to 1995 now, it’s been fun. The shows have been the shits since Hogan came in, but I’m looking forward to the nWo era.

i don't want to be a downer, but...
I know, I’m just looking forward to all the different people that come in. So far late 1993 into 1994 before Hogan comes in was the peak for me.
The Watts era of 1992 was hilarious. Every show starts with this self-serving Bill Watts promo that is straight out of 1978 Saturday morning wrestling. Him pushing his green son as a star, all of a sudden every ppv has Dr Death in the Main event, etc.
