Cromartie's inclusion on this list is also questionable. If he was stiffing all his kids than perhaps, but he's too high profile to be able to get away with it.

I'm not saying he should be at the top, but I think any dude who lets the media fawn over what great character he has and accepts an award about it and then later that day gets busted paying for sex is probably an asshole. Out of everyone named so far though, you're right, I'd put him and Cromartie at the bottom.

Hell, I'd put Reggie White ahead of both of them (even though that probably means I'm going to Packer hell someday).

Moss and Sapp are just garden-variety assholes compared to the others listed. I'n not familiar with why Green would get a nod.

His mental illness makes this a real tough one. But if you don't use that as an excuse, yeah he's got a multitude of demerits.

Moss intentionally ran over that traffic woman with his car. Also, he trapped that woman during the Patriots 18-1 playoff run. Sapp and Green both beat up women.

And I come from a family full of people who have been clinically diagnosed with and treated for being bipolar. I can't let that get him off the hook for beating up his girlfriend.

Maybe I'm not sure how broad we're going with the asshole label here. I was just thinking criminal assholes, but if we want to go broader than Terrell Owens is going to get mentioned, who was as big of an asshole as it gets without committing any crimes.

Interesting mention of White. Not sure where being a bigot would rank on this list.

Yeah, I kind of spaced out some of the Moss stuff--even then he's still low on this list. I didn't know that about Sapp and Green, but in Sapp's case at least that's not surprising at all.

Then there's even more skeletons in his closet--like instigating the dispute that got Darrent Williams murdered. :(

Yeah, I've been trying to stick with guys who have done illegal things. Cause otherwise it's just gonna turn into "Terrell Owens and Brett Favre and Tom Brady annoy me!"

White is an asshole though. I'm not sure where he would rank on here, but I was just using him as an example of a guy who did something that to me is much worse than getting busted with a hooker or having a lot of children with different women.

Chad Ocho Cinco liked to punch women, didn't he?

Also, Richie Incognito probably deserves a mention.

OK, this discussion has inspired me to figure out the worst human beings for each of the 32 teams. It'll be interesting to see who comes out the "best".

I'm trying to figure out what to do with someone like Sharper who could be assigned with multiple teams. Does he cancel out both Chmura and Peterson or is the fair thing just to place him with no one?

I think I would judge him based on his worst incident, and who he played for when that incident took place.

I wouldn't be opposed to a guy being the worst human being ever on more than one team.

I considered Chmura for my list.

The whole trial was so scummy. It was like the most Wisconsin thing ever. Especially that fat kid who witnessed it and blamed the girl and clearly was jealous that Mark Chmura didn't fuck him instead.

and his name was John Spike

Well, Sharper was retired when his (known) rape spree took place. Same thing with OJ. I don't know if it's fair to the 49ers to put OJ on them since they only got the washed up version of OJ. But the Packers, Vikings, and Saints probably all get Sharper since he was a Pro Bowler with all three of them.

Should there maybe be a special category for retired players?

He was arrested in 2005 on domestic abuse charges. He was also apparently arrested in 1999 on domestic abuse charges as well.

Also, another Packer one I forgot. Al Harris got charged with sexually assaulting a stripper the same week Ahman Green got arrested for domestic abuse.
