The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Urban earned his money this year, and they got a little lucky because they are Ohio State and not TCU.
Two best teams playing right now are in the championship. I liked how it worked this year more but there are still way too many meaningless bowl games.
The regular season is good, the postseason sucks
They should play all of the bowls before deciding the playoff field so they actually mean something. This'll never happen, of course.

It's a good idea, same reason championship Saturday has been so good.
Id be happy if they just raised the entrance requirement to 8 wins
6 wins isn't a good year. Everyone should get to practice bowl or no bowl, but just send the better teams to a bowl. Sorry if the Bahamas, government contractors and the city of Birmingham have to find another way to advertise.

You have to wonder if schools will ever get tired of taking a bath on middling bowls and stop sending their 6-7 win teams to them. Do conference tie-ins mandate that a school goes to a certain bowl? If so, it might take quite a while to change things.

It depends on the conference now. Most of the big conferences share funds, and there are accommodations made by the conferences to help with the funding now as I understand it. The conferences/playoff committee are also playing a bigger role int he CFB deciding where teams go and matchup rather than the bowls leading that process (to my knowledge anyway)
It seems like a lot of the mid tier bowls are all paying about the same now IE the Belk, Music City, the one in Tampa, The Citrus all paying the same to the schools which goes into the conference pool and then in general is evenly distributed.
It would probably just help the post season in general if the cutoff was boosted to 8 wins and everyone could practice. Coaches really want those practices. I get that fan bases want to see their teams play one more time, but I'd like them to earn a bowl, 6 wins doesn't feel like earning it. For those of us who just want to see the better games. 8 win teams will provide better match ups.

Even a 7 win minimum would help eliminate some of the unnecessary bowls.
