Not a great stance for a US fan to take.
Also the correct answer for the last decade is Argentina. WC and two straight Copa flops

You don't know shit about international football
Oh okay man, for sure

Mexico is headed to extra time against Haiti in the Gold Cup right now. 0-0.
Meanwhile Argentina has won 14 Copas and 2 World Cups. Stick to Marxism, dumbass
Look Bryan, you're an unbearably stupid person--which is fine, I still think you deserve healthcare and a living wage. But for a team to "choke" on an international level, there basically by definition has to be a presumption that they should have succeeded, which is precisely why Argentina in the past decade fit that standard by your own admission. Certainly I'd hear the argument that they didn't deserve to win against a great German squad in the WC, okay. But to go out on pks against fucking Chile in 2015 is a choke job and then to do it AGAIN in 2016 (with Messi missing his shot in the second contest) is really something quite special.

That's fucking stupid. From a population and world standing standpoint, Argentina has consistently punched above its weight.
Just to be clear, this argument doesn't make any fucking sense. Argentina has a comparable population to Spain, twice that of Chile, four times that of Portugal. Their GDP per capita is almost identical with Mexico's and significantly higher than that of Brazil and Colombia. They're long positioned themselves as the most European of South American countries, play a significant role in global politics, and boast pockets of extreme (relative) wealth that help foster a pretty robust youth soccer system in a country plagued with inequality.

Mexico has 3 times the population and the same GDP per capita and has never made a WC semifinals, while Argentina has been in the finals 5 times.
Mexico will probably win the Gold Cup final but anytime the USMNT has been even close to competent they have beaten Mexico. Yet, the delusional El Tri fans honestly think they are world cup favorites every 4 years. Then they lose their first knockout game every cycle. It's way more pathetic than anything Argentina has gone through despite their failings with Messi.
