That team has been a lot of fun to watch. Can't imagine they'll go far but I hope they make it out of group play.

Not impossible, but probably need a good draw.
There best player by far, Alphonso Davies should be back for the World Cup. He’s currently recovering from myocarditis. If he’s back the team is significantly better.

It's been a long time since Canada (or the USMNT, for that matter) faced the level of competition that they will see in the WC this fall. Beating up on Panama, drawing with Mexico, that's one thing; going up against Portugal, Argentina, France, etc.--that's quite another.

More anti-italian racism. You hate to see it.

It's a shame this thread wasn't bumped last night. Pusilic had a fantastic game, looks like the USMNT isn't gonna fuck up this time.
did you watched football in Arg? do you have a team?
I was only there for ten months so not really. I watched the Boca-River match where the River players got maced, that was fun as hell.
oh yeah!
Im a River fan
No wonder you're racist.

I don’t dislike the Italian national team, I was thinking in the context of the discussion, that’s one team sure to beat Canada, that didn’t make it. A shock really.

Why can’t some teams go in the same group as others from their federation, but the winner of that EUR play in can go with England?
because with so many teams from Europe (13), there’s no way to avoid having them play each other. Otherwise they avoid placing teams in the same geographic region. Europe has to be an exception.
I like USA’s draw. I think they can get out of Group B. And Group A is by far the weakest (not to get ahead of ourselves).
The complete draw is as follows: Group A: Qatar (hosts), Netherlands, Senegal, Ecuador Group B: England, United States, Iran, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine Group C: Argentina, Mexico, Poland, Saudi Arabia Group D: France, Denmark, Tunisia, Peru/Australia/UAE Group E: Spain, Germany, Japan, Costa Rica/New Zealand Group F: Belgium, Croatia, Morocco, Canada Group G: Brazil, Switzerland, Serbia, Cameroon Group H: Portugal, Uruguay, South Korea, Ghana

Yeah it's certainly easier than the 2014 draw. I think we should be able to handle Iran and the playoff winner. If we beat or draw with England, great, but it shouldn't be too difficult to reach the knockout stage. First place would be nice since A2 will be who, Ecuador?
Canada got a rough draw, they could easily surprise some of those teams and they could also end up 4th.

Kind of a boring group. The Mexico game should be fun though
