The talking heads sure overvalue Crowder. I can't say I ever cared for him. He looks the part but rarely plays like it. Love IT but he's tiny and hurt and getting old. The deal is worth it just to not have to pay him. Who know what that Brooklyn pick will be....seems unlikely even if its #1 that the player will eventually five years from now will be better than Irving....once LeBron leaves the Cavs will be crap for the life of the franchise so it really doesn't matter who that pick turns into....no brainer deal for the Celts. They still need a rebounder.

Seen a few headlines/comments out there that Boston got "fleeced". I don't think they did at all. On a related note, why is that now the popular verb to describe a trade?

Boston would have been a lot better off trading for Butler or George. Irving is pretty overrated and basically the same player as IT.
But also three years younger, not up for an extension after this season, and not recovering from a hip injury. I agree he is overrated and very dependent on the team around him to be on a winning team.
Boston did well getting that pick from the Sixers in the pre-draft trade to soften the below of trading the Brooklyn pick. The Brooklyn pick could be in the 5-8 range just as easily as the the 1-3 range.
Irving is injury prone too. I'm just not buying him as the difference maker. Life is going to be different without LeBron around even with a decent roster around him in Boston.

He is injury prone, no doubt, but is coming off two healthy seasons.
I think he'll be better than IT, especially in the playoffs. There are very few players as talented offensively as him (especially in the Eastern Conference). Boston has enough wing guys to make up for his defensive flaws. It's a good win now move for Boston, but also good in that they didn't give up any of their young guys.
