The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
turned2black - sub 3 marathon that's good, fucking good. I'll be happy if I do my half sub 1:45. I was sub 2 hours last year but missed 6 weeks training 2 months prior due to breaking some ribs snowboarding.
I'm switching back to marathons after spending the last 5 years in ultras, so the miles won't bother me. I'll be focused on the speedwork and tempo runs.
I'm doing the run for your lives zombie 5k in September. Looks really fun..
Also doing a short four miler at the end of the month. Shooting for about 25 minutes there.
I generally don't like the shorter stuff because my ability to endure pain is really my only advantage in races. But I do pace my nephew every year in the Pat Tillman 4.2 mile run. He just had a fairly serious injury and will be out of commission for a few months, so I might actually "race" it this year. I'm sure I'll embarrass myself.
I've always considered myself more of a distance runner too but my energy levels just aren't back to where they were. I am still hopeful I can run my first marathon within the next year or two. I ran a pretty challenging 10k this past July at an 8mph pace, but nothing longer than that since.
I hate running on the treadmill but i sure as shit aint running in 0 degree weather. So gym i go. I will probably also rotate some bike sprint workouts to keep things fresh. but i really want to tone up and lose a few extra pounds. I really think if I cut out getting drunk and up my cardio and yoga just a little bit ill be great and will feel like a million damn dollars.

After a week+ of no running the knee feels better. I think it was LCL strain. I have started back, easing into it on the treadmill. So far no pain. I need to kick it up quickly - 7 mile mud run in mid April.
Busted out 4 miles at 26:12 tonight after work. I'll probably have a hard time getting up in the morning when the alarm goes off. Probably could have done better...

Planning on weight/cardio tomorrow night after work..Gym wasn't too crowded this morning
Successfully pulled off the back to back workout days but ditched the cardio. I've really been slack about that part of my routine lately. Typical evening crowd; I'm sure it will be a lot more packed out starting next week.

Worked. 11 hours including commute.
I use my commute to get 65 minutes of biking cardio a day. If you can fit it in try it. It is so good fro stress relief. That said, I have a sweet set up at work. The building I work in provides a free secure bike lock up room, a gym with showers ($160/yr), and a credenza in my office that I keep a couple weeks worth of clothing in.
