The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Got in 8 before work today. Which brings my week total to 34 miles. Which is much better than I expected to get this week. This was supposed to be my "recovery" week, and I got more miles than I have all fall/winter so far.
Four straight weeks at 30 or more. Feeling pretty great about that.
I was gonna run today, but instead I ate 2 large chicken breasts, about 4 servings of mash potatoes, 3 homemade cinnamon rolls and half a bottle of wine.
I've been building speed on my 4 mile runs getting ready for this short road race Feb 2nd. Extended forecast has the temps in the single digits at the end of the month

Damn, you make me feel like a wimp. I complained yesterday because it was 25 degrees for my 5 mile run. My legs never got loose, so it really was a 5 mile trot. Managed to knock off a kilometre in the pool today after watching Seahawks blow it. Now onto beer.

Oh I didn't say i've been out in that cold of weather, but if race day it is zero out I guess I will have to gut it out. I usually feel comfortable running outside down to around 20 in low winds. Anything lower and its treadmill time.

For those in Phoenix: is the Grand Canal Trail - near the airport/Van Buren/202 a good place to run (staying at the Hilton Garden Inn for work)? is it all paved?

I haven't actually run that stretch of canal, but I would say there's a 99% chance that all of it will be paved. If you are into trails, Papago Park will be close and there are trails of various lengths that will be sure to suit you.

Thanks do you know if the trails at Papago are generally flat, or decent hills?

I haven't been there for awhile, but it's generally pretty flat with some rolling hills. Nothing strenuous. If you'll have some time, I could recommend some better trails, but they'll probably be a 30-minute drive/taxi each way from your hotel. Also, make sure to hit Four Peaks Brewery in Tempe for beer and great food.
