James Neal has stood out to me on every team I've ever seen him play on but he always get's traded. I don't know what I'm missing. |

Montreal looks great, Ottawa and Vancouver look solid, St Louis and San Jose look bad... of course, it'll probably all balance out back closer to expectations over the next couple months, but it's fun never knowing what anyone is going to do on any given night. |

Update: Montreal is bad, Ottawa is bad, Vancouver is bad. San Jose is a little better, but St. Louis remains terrible. So other than St. Louis, the teams I mentioned are playing right back around expectations. Shocking! It's really weird seeing the Blues, Kings, and Blackhawks at the bottom of the standings. I still think the Blues are better than they've shown, but in general these are three perennial contenders seeing their windows slam shut. I guess Buffalo deserves some recognition, too. It's not likely going to keep up, but they've had a fantastic start. |

Only six teams are under ".500". .500 is bad. Ottawa is bad. |
