Verb is too mean. He would shame me and I get enough of that IRL.

I just ran 11.9km or 7.4miles in 1:08. Pretty sure that is a distance record in terms of running for me.

What brand of sneakers did you run in?

Adidas. Has to be Adidas.

Cold temps came off the lake, and it looks like he took advantage. Great race, Tim!

Thanks guys! Ended up being one of those days where everything goes exactly the way you planned it. Now no more goddamn road marathons til next year.

Did your nutrition during the race go better this time around?

Yeah, much better. I ate a bigger breakfast (oatmeal cup, bagel w/ pb, two bananas, coffee), ate a Gu 20 minutes before the race and at miles 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 (1 more than the first race). I carried a Speeddraw bottle filled with Powerade and drank probably 3/4 of it. Drank water at every station and Powerade at 3 or 4 of them (didn't drink any sports drink the first time). Took slices of watermelon and orange from random spectators. Passed on the random beers. :shake: I never experienced anything close to that horrible, out of body, just want to lie down in the grass feeling I had when I hit the wall in the first race.

I think my carb loading went better this time, too. The first time I didn't really do anything specific, just tried to eat more bread and pasta than usual. This time I cooked half a bag of white rice and divided it between my lunches and dinners starting 3 or 4 days before. I think I gained 3-4 pounds the week of the race.

I don't know if all of those changes were necessary, but I wasn't taking any chances after hitting the wall so hard last time.

There you go, three paragraphs to answer a y/n question. :haha:

No that's good info man. I'm taking mental notes. I'm doing fine so far. But with longer runs coming up in training I'm going to have to start experimenting with nutrition.

Basically had the exact opposite experience today that I had yesterday. Set out to do a 7 miler. The heat kicked my ass. Stopped at 4 and walked home. My final mile was a 10:15. Yeesh! Lungs hurt. Heart rate was out of control. Lets tightened up. Hard to breathe. Sweating like a waterfall. It was awful.

I still feel beat, like I got hit by a truck. And my run was 6 and a half hours ago. I feel like shit.
