An angry mama bear w/ 2 cubs was spotted near the trails I ran on last week, so...so much for that.

same here, though oddly enough still plenty of humidity

average pace 11:39
average speed 5.1
max speed 8.9
avg steps/min 160
max steps/min 183
step length 2.8ft
elevation gain 160
elevation loss 150
max elevation 810

this all comes from runtastic

on our campus they put in a new road for the employees so we dont get stuck behind tanker trucks and delivery trucks coming in and leaving. the culdesac then up the new road, back to the old road and across the plants parking lot is .75 miles. i do 4 laps and try to hit about 8 minutes per lap. im not training for a 5k, 10K or anything like that, basically to burn off energy/anger during the day

 That's a good one.

This one's about Jim Walmsley's 2016 Western States 100 race. He was on pace to win and shatter the course record through 93 miles, but then got off-course.

I'm signed up for a 50K trail race in November on a local trail (4 7.5 mile loops). I hope it goes well and I can keep progressing from there but I don't wanna get too far ahead of myself. The marathon was super humbling.

I have an arbitrary goal of running the Superior 50 (https://www.superiorfalltrailrace.com/50-mile-info/) the year I turn 40 (2020), but a) it's a lottery and b) it's waaaay beyond my current abilities, so we'll see how the next couple years go. :haha:

Sweet!

Honestly dude, the ultra distance isn't beyond your current abilities. You could start training tomorrow and be ready for a 50-miler in 3 months.

Running longer is easy. Running faster is hard AF.

Your streak goal is one year? That's hardcore. Mine will end today. 12 days til Grandma's and I need to rest my right hip.

My two dead toenails finally fell off over the weekend. My wife wasn't nearly as impressed with this as I was.

I never really paid attention to it until my Garmin started measuring it, but my average cadence for last 5 runs has been 180, 180, 178, 182, 180. God-like.

Yeah, mine's generally between 180 and 185.

I've tried to lengthen my stride and keep my cadence (something Mo Farrah and others work on), but it's never really worked out. I just feel awkward AF.

Haven't run in a few days. Perfect day to head to the park. Ran my normal 5k route and CRUSHED it. Personal all time best! I'm all amped up!

26:39
8:36 avg pace

splits:
8:55
8:41
8:19
6:57 (that last 0.1 mile)

34 ft elevation gain

I used Tailwind for the first time on my long run yesterday. I mixed the first bottle waaaaay too strong and drank it waaay too fast, waaaay too soon after breakfast, which lead to some mild stomach issues and that nasty "full" feeling in the back of my throat. But that went away around mile 15. Didn't miss the Gu at all. Overall it was a successful experiment and I plan on using it at Grandma's.
