Fitbit Charge 4
I like it, though battery life isn't great. Everything Reid said pretty much applies to mine, I'm sure, but I only pay attention to heart rate and distance and GPS mapping. I don't train for races. It tells you what heart rate zone you're in while running. If you hit peak, it vibrates and you look down and go, oh ok i need to slow down. I like it aesthetically too. And the silent vibrating alarm is nice for waking up in the morning. Oh and sleep stats are cool. Deep sleep, light sleep, restlessness etc. Recommend.

I remember I was in Miami when it happened. I was posting from the balcony of my apartment overlooking the beach. And I was having an argument with Adamdude.

I forget it's on. It's very light. I sleep with it and shower with it too. It's become a part of my body composition.
It tracks sleep with alarming accuracy and I often have to stop myself from using the sleep data to keep score in arguments with my wife about who wakes up to put the toddler back to sleep most often.

I like the Fitbit Charge 5. I, too, barely notice it's there. Like tree, I've also started using the silent vibrating alarm on the watch as my wake up alarm. I wish I could connect it to Bluetooth headphones and listen to my podcasts so that I wouldn't have to bring my phone with me on runs, but alas.
Also, you guys scolded me yesterday so I went out today with the goal of keeping my heart rate low. I monitored it with my watch and tried to keep it under 160. I had to go slow! I think it's mainly the hills around here that make the heart rate go up up up

It's hard to say. It felt like a little less hard work than it usually does, but I had to think about slowing down and checking my watch more than usual. So I didn't enjoy it more, exactly

Spend a week or two doing just what you did there and soon you'll stop looking at your watch until after your run. You get used to the feel of it.
When I started going slower and focusing on HR, my first few runs had positive splits but it felt good, effort-wise.
Don't forget to really push it into the 170s for at least one run a week though. Gotta give your muscles some weekly punishment at least. "80/20 running", etc..

FYI I just finished mowing for the last 45 minutes and my heart rate got up to 112. Feels high for using a self-propelled mower. Really drives the point home that I'm out of shape

How much elevation change do you guys experience to call it a hill? We don't really have those around here. Yesterday's run featured one of the biggest hills I know for a whopping elevation gain of 52 feet.

I try to avoid them so I don’t really know. Does it count against the gain if you go up one side of it and down the other?
I really do struggle on the slightest of hills. I feel it in my thighs almost immediately. Any tips?
