There are certain things I've found that give me the runners trots. Deli ham is one. Diet soda a few hours before running is another. Nothing worse than that feeling of shit gurgling in your intestines during a run. I've never shit myself but I can think of at least two times I've shit in public, though I don't think anyone seen it.

I wasn't aware of this running podcast. What's it like?
There are two types of episodes: gang shows, and long runs. Gang shows are a bunch of Chicago-area ultra runners shooting the shit for about two hours. It's supposed to simulate the experience of going for a long, slow run with a bunch of friends. So it's very loose, the audio quality isn't always great, and the content can be very...dick jokey. Only the main host (a lawyer from Chicago) has any kind of broadcasting/oratorial skill. "Long Runs" are one-on-one interviews with notable ultra runners (Ann Trason, Camille Herron, Grant Maughn, Pete Kostelnick, etc.). A few of the interviews are 4+ hours. If you check it out I'd recommend listening to the more recent Gang Shows and working backward...the early episodes are rough. If you listen to an interview I'd recommend John F. from the Barkley documentary. It's long, but he's a super fascinating guy.
Got outside today on a back to back. My hip still hurts but its manageable on low mileage. I'm just going to run through it and hope it eventually goes away. I can't just sit around for weeks on end.

So I skipped two days in a row, putting myself firmly in the RM Strava basement. I feel the need to explain myself to my fans and my foes. The reason I skipped is threefold:
1. My ankles are really hurting TBH 2. It’s not a competition, guys. It’s just not. And besides, my 10k training doesn’t start for another week, so take it when you can get it, amirite? 3. Skipping the weekend pretty much forces me to run tomorrow, and I really like starting my week with a solid run.
F the haters :Gomez:
