For me it's about paying attention to my technique. Being able to hear my footstep and not being distracted really helps me.

Yeah, I'm a 45-year-old who no longer gets "pumped up" by RATM's Killing in the Name.

I'm looking forward to running in the snow but will be cutting way back for a couple of months. Need time to fatten up so I can body-shame myself into marathon shape come spring.

was this year typical for you or did you improve?

It was my 2nd year of running and I went from half marathon to 50k, so yeah, a lot of improvement. I didn't do a whole lot of workouts or speed training, but running long distances dropped my 5k, 10k and HM times by about 3-4 minutes each.

I was listening to a podcast the other day and someone said that year 2 is the best year of running because you're improving on everything you did in year one but haven't been running long enough for the little nagging injuries to set in yet. Year three is supposedly when that starts to happen. So I'm a little nervous for next year.

People who wear headphones in races...that shit bugs me.

I wanna do this race (https://www.marquettetrail50.com/50k) next August but I don't know if I have the balls to:

-Do it alone (haven't found any friends willing to do it with me yet)
-Tell my wife I'm either going away alone for a 3-4 day weekend or that we're planning a mini vacation around a race
-Take on a course that is an order of magnitude more difficult than anything I have available to train on around here

Goes on sale on Black Friday and sells out in hours, so I gotta decide soon.

Does anyone know if you can log a treadmill run on Strava?

If success can be measured by accomplishing your Monday morning planned run on Friday, I am a superstar.

Just hit the "+" on the "Feed" screen, then select "Manual Activity" and enter your info.

It looks like we're gonna be in Door County then, but I'm shock to discover there are no ferries from DC/Washington Island to the U.P. (something the fam and I would be interested in) and it's like a 4-hour drive otherwise.

Why are you trying to rub stuff in Joey's face?

I've got a lot of things I'd love to rub in Joey's face.

Clever Training has Boston 7s on sale for $83. Can't beat that.

Bunch of places just dropped their prices on Bostons and Adios.

I'm no longer in love with my NB 1400s and can still return them...

That's kinda surprising. They don't want to lose tourist dollars to MI I guess.
