The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I'm looking forward to running in the snow but will be cutting way back for a couple of months. Need time to fatten up so I can body-shame myself into marathon shape come spring.
was this year typical for you or did you improve?
It was my 2nd year of running and I went from half marathon to 50k, so yeah, a lot of improvement. I didn't do a whole lot of workouts or speed training, but running long distances dropped my 5k, 10k and HM times by about 3-4 minutes each.
I was listening to a podcast the other day and someone said that year 2 is the best year of running because you're improving on everything you did in year one but haven't been running long enough for the little nagging injuries to set in yet. Year three is supposedly when that starts to happen. So I'm a little nervous for next year.
People who wear headphones in races...that shit bugs me.
-Do it alone (haven't found any friends willing to do it with me yet) -Tell my wife I'm either going away alone for a 3-4 day weekend or that we're planning a mini vacation around a race -Take on a course that is an order of magnitude more difficult than anything I have available to train on around here
Goes on sale on Black Friday and sells out in hours, so I gotta decide soon.

It looks like we're gonna be in Door County then, but I'm shock to discover there are no ferries from DC/Washington Island to the U.P. (something the fam and I would be interested in) and it's like a 4-hour drive otherwise.

That's kinda surprising. They don't want to lose tourist dollars to MI I guess.
