But there's a chance of rain so it'll be a game time decision. what do you think you'll shoot? Probably an 82. what do you think you'd shoot in "real golf"? 117 that would probably beat me right now...let's have a boston guys weekend in which we play both |

so it's basically like regular golf, except with a frisbee? do people use carts? sorry for my ignorance |

No carts. Each hole can be anywhere from about 200 to 600 feet. Sometimes they're in fields out in the open, but more likely there are fairways cut through the woods. You're trying to get it in the basket in the fewest shots possible. Here are some pictures from my favorite course. |

Most courses are free. Borderland is a state park so it's five bucks to park and then you play for free. Technically you can't drink at the state parks but people bring beer and weed with them. I actually avoid the parking fee because I like to park on the street by hole 12 and start my round there. There are some courses I play that are privately owned and cost about 5 bucks a round (you can usually pay like 12 for the day if you're gonna stick around). There aren't any bears in eastern massachusetts. |

any throws over water? what constitutes a penalty? is there out of bounds? if you're 1 foot away from the basket do you still have to throw it or just place it in the basket? |

Absolutely there are shots over water. Not at every course, but there's one out in Leicester that has many water shots. Terrain varies course to course. Some are more wooded than others, some have water, some have more elevation changes. There's technically out of bonds but we generally don't enforce the boundaries. Play it where it lies, I had to shoot it off Frankenstein's fat foot. Sometimes though there are "mandos", where there will be an M sign on a tree with an arrow pointing to either side of it and your shot has to go that way. We do enforce those, and if you fuck up you have to chip your way back around the tree properly. If you can literally place the disc in the basket from where you stand, you don't have to shoot it. But if your a few feet away and can't just drop it in, you have to make it. |

doug rr wrote: how many discs do you carry? whats your brand of choice? Innova Discraft and MVP are the three brands I use. I like Innova (champion style) for forehand flick shots and discraft and mvp for the traditional back hand shot. My favorite driver is my MVP Impulse at about 169 grams. My Discraft Buzzz is one of the best discs ever made and I use it a lot for mid range shots. My Discraft Comet is a mid range shot but I use it for putts and pretty much anything 50 feet or closer. My Innova (champion) Viking is what I use for fore hand drives and mid range shots. I swear by this disc for the flick. I use those four discs like 90% of the time. Then I have a few other discs I use situationally. The Innova Wraith is over stable so I use that for back hand shots that need to make a sharp left turn. I have a few other discs in my bag that I just don't use anymore, and a couple that were gifts that I use if my Viking is too wet and I didn't bring a towel. |
