Something like that. People here think everything that might help them out is the work of the devil.

He wouldn't be bad off with that set. The leopard and shark will get the job done for him and that's a good price for 3 discs.

Chloe and i will be getting something or another this week and ill post what we go for when we do. we may just go for the sets to give us a starting point and see how we actually throw, but i think we will check out play it again sports to see if they have a big variety, if they do and they are in the 5 dollar range then we may just pick out a bunch of different ones.

They tend to be more expensive in sporting good stores, I've found.

That why im hoping for some used ones possibly

The ones we found earlier were $10-20, which isn't bad I guess, but for six of them it could potentially be $120 between the two of us.

Hobbies are expensive lol

Also check your local courses for some tournaments. Typically guys show up there selling old discs in good condition. You can usually pick them up for 1/2 price, so like $5-10.

I agree with the guy who said you really only need a driver and a putter/midrange starting off.

For your driver, pick something that is understable - which means that when you throw it won't have as much of a tendency to just curve to the left - for rhbh (right-handed back-hand) throwers. You'll have a better chance of throwing an S curve which will give you a longer drive.

Also for all you youngsters out there, try to snap your wrist when you throw it. It will fly truer and straighter.

Around about how far should you be throwing each disc, or since people throwing different will make a difference, is it something like the distance driver should go twice as far as the intermediate and the putter should go half as far as the intermediate?
Im sure once i get them and throw them a bit ill understand, but they didn't look all that different when we were looking at them yesterday so it seems weird that some go farther then others

It really depends on your strength and how good your form is. Concentrate on getting your form right before trying to throw too hard or far. I can throw ~350ft, and prob 200 with my "putter" (it's not really a putter), but I've been playing for a decade.

To see which ones will travel farther look at the sides of the disk. The putters will have a wide rim and the drivers will be much thinner so that they can slice through the air.

Just act like it's a beer bong, no reason to worry about it!

we are all set up now to give this a go
we each picked out 3 discs and we got a bag, now i just hope the weather forecast is wrong because its supposed to be in the 30s this weekend and that might suck to play in

hope we did ok with our choices
Chloe picked out all innova discs
champion side winder distance driver
skeeter midrange
avair putter

and i picked out all discraft discs
x cyclone extra long range
x buzzz mid range
x soft putter

i read a decent amount on the discraft discs to know how to decide on the stability, but wasnt as sure on the innova discs so im hoping i did ok helping Chloe pick out hers.

 Just making sure since it wasn't listed.

Those discs should work well. That sidewinder will try really hard to goto the right (if you're a rhbh thrower) and throw it level .

i did some more reading this morning, and im kinda worried about that sidewinder, i dont know if there is a real drastic difference in stability and stuff, but i thought wrong on them and her sidewinder has a -3 turn rating and i thought the more negative was better on that, but that means it will turn over easier i guess, so we may look into taking that one back, but we will give it a few throws first.
