Wth is up with that Ozzie Albies contract?

7 years / $35m, with 2 team-options years at the end (so could be 9/$45m)

Other than some long term security, I have no clue how this deal is good for him. Absolute steal for the Braves.

congrats chris davis...so happy for you

He’ll finish the season batting .269

assuming he gets around 500 at bats, he would have to get 131 hits in his next 462 at bats, or hit around .283 the rest of the way. Hes only hit about .269 4 times in his career. Hell, hes only had 3 seasons of at least 131 hits even. Hes gonna be lucky to even sniff a buck fifty

What kind of starting pitcher do you expect to get in return for a 31-year-old coming off a bad season who's currently injured and still owed $60 million over the next three years?

Hell of a start, but the Mariners are not a good team.

how come pitchers never have a problem when someone breaks a bat after a strike out? Swinging and missing at a pitch, and getting so mad that you missed it, that you decided to break your bat, is way more disrespectful if you ask me

I totally get plunking a player for being dirty. You go in cleats high to break up a double play, yeah, throw at that guy. But giving up a homer? just strike him out the next time and do a glove flip.

If a guy tries to break his bat after I strike him out that’s a confidence boost for me as a pitcher.

I was being sarcastic :D some of the former players on MLB network have been so worked up all week. If batflips are against the unwritten rules and you guys (the MLB players) don't like them, why don't you put them in your kangaroo courts and fine your own player for being a showboat. That would do just as much good as the beanball wars. Who knows maybe they do? Its just funny hearing the former players get all worked up over a stupid bat flip.

Eddie Rosario is second only to Christian Yelich as the hottest player in the league right now.

Twins hit 8 home runs in the second game of a double header sweep last night. #MashingTaters
