Replay has been an unmitigated disaster, I’d prefer they meddle less and not more.

That replay phone apparatus though. Love that thing and love watching three people operate it.

I wonder how it actually communicates with New York. My guess is a comrex unit or something employing the same IP based technology.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Or else some sort of splicing agent for the comdata.

I bet their mainframe is in Needles, CA, though.

next time you're in Needles, cross the border into AZ and grab a drink at the river valley tavern

Is that by the Salton Sea?

no

I know very little about the geography of the Arizona/CA border area.

I hate the whole idea of a pitch clock.

What happens when the batter steps out? does it reset? what about stepping off the mound? throwing over to first?
Whats stopping a player from rattling a pitcher simply by doing these things knowing the pitcher knows the clocks running.

What makes baseball special compared to just about EVERY other sport, is there is no clock.
3 outs, 9 innings, that decideds the out come.

Re: MLB

a pitch clock is not the same as a game clock

and they've used it successfully in minor leagues for a while now. everyone says after watching it for a few innings it becomes the most natural thing in the world.

would it take longer to tell it than a baseball game?

Re: MLB

I hope all these pitch clocks somehow result in the most extra innings baseball we’ve ever seen.

it's not length of game it's pace of play

Which is what I was saying during the last WBC. The games where Asian teams matched up took just as long if not longer. So clearly the game of baseball has evolved to this pace of play. Yes, it would be nice to speed some of the slow pitchers up, but its clearly not just an MLB problem/issue.

Get rid of batter introductions / walk up music. Thats gonna save ya a good 3 seconds per batter. In a double perfect game with a walk off homer to win it, thats gonna save ya almost 3 mins already :D

Omar Vizquel got more votes than Larry Walker. He got twice as many as Scott Rolen and Andruw Jones combined.

Voters are idiots.
