If a player hits a really long fly ball and rounds first before it's caught, is that technically a single, out at second?

No, because he was never safe at first.
Like a long fly ball this one went right over your head

i will die on this hill: they need to change the rule prohibiting the trading of draft picks. i still don't understand why it's never discussed. it would generate interest, reinvigorate the trade deadline (which now usually goes by with a whimper because no one wants to trade prospects), and generate buzz in the draft.
Reviving this post from the lockout period in March with a quick reminder--draft picks can be traded, as long as they are competitive balance picks. The Royals just sent their CBP to the Braves for prospects, which essentially gives the Braves 2 second-round picks: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/342 ... -35th-pick
Camden Yards has been one of the top stadiums I’ve wanted to visit, and I will be attending a game this week. I’d rather them playing someone other than the woeful Pirates, but I’m still really looking forward to it.

Josh Hader to Padres??
Brewers were never going to resign him, and he hasn’t looked good at all as of late.
I just saw what they got in return...a ton pitching.
And once again I look forward to a ho-hum Cardinals trade deadline come and go.
Imagine being a Rays fan. We just traded for a defensive-minded outfielder hitting .178
